My End of Year Ritual
Step-by-Step Guide to My Year-End Practice
This is one of my favourite rituals of the year. It’s a moment to slow down, breathe, and honour everything that has unfolded before stepping into what’s next with clarity and intention.
Every December, I create a cosy space, light a candle, make tea, open my journal and begin with reflection. I write two lists:
What I’m ready to release
The habits, fears, and stories I don’t want to carry forward.
What I want to invite in
The feelings, experiences, and energy I want to welcome.
Then comes my favorite part. I burn both lists. Watching the paper turn to ash feels cleansing, like clearing space for something new to grow.
Finally, I choose one word to guide me through the year ahead. This word becomes my anchor, my reminder of what matters most.
Journal Prompts for Reflection
What moments brought me joy this year?
What challenges taught me resilience?
What am I most proud of?
Where did I feel most aligned with my values?
What am I ready to release?
What lessons will I carry forward?
Journal Prompts for Intention Setting
How do I want to feel in the coming year?
What values will guide me?
What do I want to invite into my life?
What habits or practices will support my intentions?
What is one intention I can commit to?
If I could choose one word to define my year, what would it be?
I close with a few deep breaths, holding my word in my heart, feeling the energy of possibility!
This year, I’m sharing this ritual online for free, so you can join me from anywhere and create your own sacred space at home. Let’s reflect, release, and step into the new year together.
I hope you find this useful, please email if you have any questions or reflections.
Lots of love,
